New User-Friendly Site Design Unveiled for Mile High United Way

Using new branding information and the high-degree of experience with the Mile High United Way, the iCita team launches a new Mile High United Way web site.

Boulder, CO - September 2, 2004 - Through a continued relationship that has last almost two years, iCita and the Mile High United Way's E-business team have worked closely to design and launch a new interface for the organizations web site at www.unitedwaydenver.org. Earlier this year, the national United Way organization released new design and branding guidelines to all member United Ways in the United States. Using the inherent creativity of the iCita team, and these guidelines, iCita created and launched a new user-friendly interface that has received many praises from community members.

Ergonomic requirements for visual display terminals describes usability as "The effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which specified users achieve specified goals." Properly designed web interfaces also reduces errors, and leads to more effective and efficient user activity.

Mile High United Way is a Denver institution raising more than $30 million dollars each year and helping countless organizations and individuals better themselves and their environments. The first United Way was founded right here in Denver, Colorado by a group of visionaries: a woman and five clergymen who believed there must be a better way to meet the needs of local people. On October 16, 1887, this group created the Charity Organizations Society, the first association set up to meet community needs by funding many charities while significantly reducing the number of appeals. It started the United Way model of using organized teams of workers to solicit employees in a variety of different businesses.
